Wild and Rooted

I support mothers one to four years postpartum from drowning in the to-do list and not remembering the last time you did something for yourself to having guilt-free weekly solo time booked in the diary that nothing bumps through a 12 week 1:1 somatic coaching program.

Sound like the season you’re in?

You’re done with always being last on the list

You’ve been pouring into your family with little thought for yourself for too long

You’re ready to stop feeling like it’s Groundhog Day and actually feel in your body, with time for joy without the guilt that comes with it

Are you a mother who’s bogged down by the mental load, fed up of feeling trapped by your own guilt and SO ready to feel more like you again?

Imagine this...

  • You have a conversation with a friend that isn't just about the kids, and can answer "what do you do for fun?" without going blank

  • You can say "I need five minutes" and walk into another room without the guilt spiral after

  • You go a full week without shouting, and when it rises you have a tool you can reach for instead of losing it

  • You book something solo - a wild swim, a class, a walk - and it survives the week instead of getting bumped for laundry

Hi I’m Jo…

It’s crazy to think only four years ago I was in a really crappy place. Consumed by trying to be the ‘perfect’ mother, feeling like I should be ‘enjoying every minute’ but actually feeling totally floored by the experience and so far away from myself. Never doing anything that was for me because the guilt felt too much to face, everything else felt more important, nor did I ask for what I needed because my self worth was so low. I had just assumed that’s how it was ‘supposed to be’.

Now I regularly take myself out on dates, go on solo forest walks, feel committed to working with my body not against it through somatic movement, reiki and rest - every week without guilt. These little acts of self worth help off set the overwhelm and bring joy into my life which I now know I’m fully worthy of. No more surviving or putting my life on hold until the kids have grown up, no more ignoring the niggle that I deserve more. And a bloody awesome side effect? knowing that my joy ripples out to my family too.

So how do you go from drowning in the to-do list and not remembering the last time you did something for yourself to having guilt-free weekly solo time in the diary that nothing bumps?

How do you feel rooted enough in your body to even begin to start thinking about what YOU want in your life?

Introducing The Wild and Rooted Method

Three month 1:1 somatic coaching program, during term time

Together we’ll bring you back into your body, bring to light the BS beliefs that are holding you back and get to know what brings you joy again

In this program you will learn

How to overcome the overwhelm

What’s beneath the ‘mum rage’

How to move out of ‘survival’ mode

How to be ‘selfish’ and not feel guilty for it

What your values are, not what you think they ‘should be’

What you need and how to ask for it

How to ensure your joy is a non-negotiable

Here’s how we’ll make it happen

1. Get Rooted

We work together from the ground up, mapping where the overwhelm and ‘mum rage’ is really coming from. Working through deep-rooted beliefs that are holding you back including the ‘Good Mother Myth’ and why it’s influencing your guilt spirals.

2. Wildly You

Exploring what it means to be intentional and boundaried with your time, so the resentment can lift and it becomes possible to tend to yourself. Getting to know who you are and your values so crystal clearly that there’s no doubt what your priorities are.

3. In All Seasons

Because let’s be real, shit will hit the fan so we ensure you are equipped for real mum life scenarios, have the toolkit in your back pocket at all times and the self worth to uphold your joy as a non-negotiable, always.

Client Stories

Sara, 37, mum of two, wanted to increase her self-worth

Sara wanted to find ways to deal with the overwhelm she was experiencing and increase her self worth to a point where she could start planning her return to work as a self-employed mother. We began with working through the overwhelm and the negative thought patterns that may contribute. Rest or movement was always included in the sessions depending on what Sara needed that day.

Sara began to integrate more rest into her life and moments to check in which gave her the space to begin to think about her return to work. We also worked on her boundaries around family members and asking for what she needed with more confidence which helped reduce feelings of resentment.

Sara prioritised her much loved running practice which built up her self worth more and more as she continuously chose her self which positively impacted her life and relationships.

Anna, 35, mum of two, wanted to find herself again

Anna reached out to me as she was nearing the end of her mat leave. She wanted to find herself again since becoming a mum and explore what her ‘thing’ was. After pouring so much into her family, she felt like she never had any time to herself, felt frequently overwhelmed and guilty about doing things solo.

We worked together on building in small habits that helped her build her capacity to deal with the daily overwhelm, found the roots of where her feelings of guilt came from and explored what her relationship with being a ‘good mother’ truly meant to her.

Anna, then worked towards integrating guilt-free solo time into her life every week for walks and self-care as which created more space in her life to begin to think about what her ‘thing’ was. Here’s what she said about her experience working together.

Why this isn’t just another coaching program

  • I won’t be asking you to integrate long, unrealistic practices into your life which feel like another ‘to-do’

  • I actually understand the day in/day out intensity of early motherhood so you feel seen and heard in your experience

  • I won’t be bypassing the fact that the times that we are mothering in today are damn hard but acknowledging the sociological lens

  • I won’t just be talking through things with you to make surface level changes, we’ll actually be using neuroscience to rewire your brain and create a sense of safety within your body to create lasting change

  • You’re over feeling resentful anytime your partner takes time for himself

  • You’re fed up of losing your cool with your kids but don’t know how to change things

  • You crave time to be you, to bring more joy into your life but feel guilty every time you attempt to go out solo

  • You know there’s more to life than being bogged down in the mental load of motherhood

This is for you if…

This is not for you if…

  • You’re not ready to go all in and commit to the process

  • This doesn’t feel like an important change for you in your life right now

  • You’re not open to starting to put yourself first and live a life true to yourself

  • You’re not willing to give something new a try
